Social Media Marketing Mistakes

Whether you’re trying to show off your company’s new commercial, promotional video, or anything else, there are more than a few things to keep in mind when it comes to social media. At this point there are almost countless social media platforms, and many of them are extremely powerful tools that allow you to reach more people than ever before. But, before taking to Facebook or Twitter to promote your business, beware of the following common mistakes you should avoid.

Don’t use too many social networks at the same time. It’s great to give your audience multiple places to find and follow you, but overloading people with too much information can be confusing. It’s more likely that someone will just decide not to follow you at all than to try to keep up with all of your social media pages.

If you’re using Twitter, Instagram, or any other platform that utilizes hashtags, make sure you use them properly. Tag your videos with some relevant words, but don’t overload each post with dozens of hashtags. Give yourself some space to actually type out the message you want your customers to see, rather than just fill the post with keywords so people can find it.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is to not rely on photos and videos to market their message. Studies have shown that posts with videos get far more shares and views than posts that only contain text. While you may not be able to attach a video to every post, try to add some variety and don’t just expect your audience to read everything.

Take advantage of these tips and you should be able to help your company excel on social media!
