Best Video Editing Apps

With cameras on smartphones becoming increasingly powerful, more and more people are using their phones to take all kinds of videos. And while the quality of a phone video can vary wildly, there’s no reason why you can’t make a professional looking video on your phone. Of course, if you’re filming a commercial you may want to use a better camera, but for corporate events, short promos, and a few other uses, your phone can get the job done. However, you can make the videos you record on your phone even better by taking advantage of some of the following editing apps.

If you have an iPhone, you can’t go wrong with iMovie. A version of the app comes pre-installed on the latest iPhones, and it can be purchased from the app store. While not the most robust program when it comes to video editing software, iMovie excels in its simplicity. It allows you to add music, voiceovers, titles, and just about anything else you want to your videos, and it makes editing clips a simple process.

For Android users, we recommend checking out VidTrim. There is a free and paid version available, and it comes complete with a wide range of features. Not only can you edit footage and add music, but you can even get a little more creative with the library of effects it comes with.

For anyone who has a Windows phone, you won’t be left out in the cold. You can download Movie Edit Touch, a fully featured video editor that has some excellent touch controls. It is a great app for cleaning up videos and exporting HD files.

These are just a few of the many video editing apps available for smartphones. What are your favorites?
